Promotion Committee



The Promotion Committee plans and oversees any efforts to publicize or otherwise promote the Free-Net and its projects. These efforts might include press releases, brochures, advertisements, and public appearances. The volunteer teams are free to conduct promotion on their own, but the Promotion Committee is available as a resource. See also the Community Technology Center Team, the OrgResources Team, the Conferencing Team, and the Dialup Team.

Literature Specialist Design and revise the Free-Net's brochures and other promotional materials. Access to a page layout program, good design sense, a flair for persuasive language. 2-3 hours per brochure. Set your own hours, see your work blossom from concept to finished product. Ben Stallings. Miscellaneous Phone Caller Follow up mailings of form letters with phone calls. Excellent phone presence, patience, availability during business hours. 2-8 hours per mailing. Talk to interesting people and find ways to help them. No one at present.
Literature Distributor Put bunches of brochures in public places where people who may be looking for them can find them. Check these places later to replenish the supply. Mobility, creativity. 1-4 hours per month. Get to know a variety of public places and their promotional potential. Maryanna Harstad, Doug Palmer. More needed!
Media Liaison Follow a particular publication or broadcaster and watch for opportunities to advertise or publicize Free-Net projects. Time to follow the publication or broadcaster. 1-5 hours per week. Subscriptions may be paid by TCFN. Erik Riese (Star Tribune). More needed!
Public Event Representative Represent the Free-Net organization or a particular project at a public event such as a community festival. Sit at a table and answer questions. Transportation, familiarity with the Free-Net's projects. 1-4 hours per month. Watch the world go by. Refreshments may be paid by TCFN. Mike Huck, Ben Stallings. More Needed!
